Refund Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This policy covers every paid CleverWorkaround product. Right now that is just the WACompanion desktop app — a monthly subscription billed through Creem, our merchant of record. Reminiscent has no paid tier at this time; both its extension and desktop app are free, so there is nothing to refund there yet. If that changes, this policy will be updated to cover it before any charge is introduced. Here is exactly how refunds and cancellation work for WACompanion.

14-day money-back guarantee on your first charge

If you subscribe to the desktop app ($8.99/month) and it is not right for you, email us within 14 days of that first charge and we will issue a full refund — no detailed justification required, just tell us what did not work so we can improve. This guarantee covers your first billing cycle; see "Cancelling your subscription" below for stopping future renewals.

Your statutory rights come first

This policy is offered in addition to your legal rights, never instead of them. Nothing here takes away a right you cannot contractually give up.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase of digital content. Where you have asked for immediate access and acknowledged that this ends that right, it may not apply — but our own 14-day guarantee above deliberately gives you the same window regardless, so you are no worse off either way.

If your subscription is faulty, not as described, or does not work as it should, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under consumer law well beyond 14 days. Tell us and we will put it right.

Cancelling your subscription

Cancel anytime, for any reason, with no notice period — either through the "Manage subscription" link in your Creem receipt or renewal email, or by emailing hello@cleverworkaround.com and we will cancel it for you. You keep full access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for; it simply will not renew after that. Cancelling does not retroactively refund past renewal charges — that is what the 14-day guarantee above and the case-by-case review below are for.

How to request a refund

Email hello@cleverworkaround.com with the email address you used at checkout and your order number (in your Creem receipt email). We aim to respond within 2 business days.

How refunds are processed

All payments are handled by Creem, our merchant of record. Approved refunds are issued back to your original payment method through Creem and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card provider.

Refunds are made of the full amount you were charged, including any VAT or sales tax Creem collected at checkout. We do not deduct a processing fee.

Please talk to us before filing a chargeback

If something has gone wrong — a charge you did not expect, a subscription you thought was cancelled, a feature that is not working — email us first. We can almost always resolve it faster than your bank can, and a refund from us usually lands sooner than a disputed chargeback.

A chargeback filed without contacting us can cause the subscription to be suspended automatically while the dispute is open, which helps nobody. We will always give you a fair hearing.

After the first 14 days

Refund requests for renewal charges (that is, not your very first payment) are considered case by case — reach out and we will do our best to find a fair outcome, particularly if you were charged for a month you clearly did not use. Your best default option is always to cancel before your next renewal date so you are simply not charged again.

If we discontinue the app

If we ever stop offering the desktop app, we will cancel all renewals so nobody is billed for a service that is ending, and refund any period already paid for but not delivered. See section 8 of the Terms of Service.

Free products

The WACompanion Chrome extension, and both the Reminiscent extension and desktop app, never require payment, so there is nothing to refund on any of those.

Abuse

We reserve the right to decline refund requests that show a pattern of abuse (for example, repeated subscribe-cancel-refund cycles) and to revoke access in those cases. This does not affect your statutory rights.
